I recently graduated from Iowa State University, an
accredited university with a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture degree.
I grew up in Davenport, Iowa attending Davenport Central High School. Growing up in the Quad Cities provided me with the opportunities of a large city while still allowing me to enjoy the wonders of the outdoors. The love of being outdoors as well as having an artistic eye led me to Landscape Architecture. Iowa State seemed like the perfect fit because of the opportunities the University could offer me as well as being in a wonderful location.

Once attending Iowa State University, I was blessed with an incredible opportunity to travel around the country and see what Landscape Architecture is through a traveling studio called Savanna Studio. By camping and staying in hotels, I was able to see that Landscape Architects can work in large firms, work for the National Park Service, work in design/build firms, or work for a non-profit organization. This allowed me to start to plan my journey for the next four years.
This journey led me to study abroad in Rome, Italy in the spring of 2014. I wanted to spend four months living in a different country to learn their culture as well as see the incredible works of art and buildings in Italy. Working alongside fellow Landscape Architecture and Architecture students allowed me to have a better understanding of how buildings and landscapes should work together to create a whole experience. The experiences I had abroad will always have an impact on how I think and look at the world.
I am excited to see where my next journey will take me and what other incredible things I will learn and experience along the way.
